Job description snapshot:

  • Leads, oversees, responsible and accountable for the Nutrition Services Department
  • Responsible for the operation of federal meal programs: National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Summer Lunch Program and various grants
  • Plan and coordinate professional development for Nutrition Services staff to meet USDA Professional Standards requirement
  • Development of technical specifications, and following federal procurement law for the purchase of capitol equipment, small equipment, food and expendable items for department and purchasing cooperative
  • Supervise, evaluate and guide staff overseeing multiple sites and staffing with up to 200 employees
  • Collaborates with District leaders to plan and implement and report on the Local School Wellness policy

Summary of Functions:

The Director of Nutrition Services will plan, direct, monitor, and maintain the day-to-day operational and fiscal function of the Nutrition Services Department.  The position will provide guidance and leadership to department office, warehouse, and school staff.  This position will ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.  This position works with school principals and district administration in coordinating nutrition services programs and activities.
