Job description snapshot:

  • Responsible for all media relations and serves as the district facilitator and spokesperson
  • Facilitates internal and external communications and marketing
  • Responsible for public relations, including but not limited to photography, videography, social media, websites, and media relations to generate awareness
  • Responsible for crisis communication, including school and district messaging
  • Responsible for the promotion and execution of District-wide special events
  • Responsible for the district’s volunteer program and background checks
  • Oversees the Print Shop, and Broadcasting Program operations
  • Works in conjunction with the Broadcasting program to promote events, activities, trainings, and special videos throughout the year
  • Public Information Officer responding to general CORA Requests

Summary of Functions:

The Director of Communications and Community Relations is responsible for coordinating public relations activities including press releases, publication production, photography, Board meeting communications and other special events.  This position is also responsible for assisting in establishing and maintaining a positive and consistent image of the district.  Responsible for the supervision of the District Print Shop as well as volunteer services district-wide.
