Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
Job description snapshot:
- Oversight of recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of all employees
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with association/bargaining units’ leadership and maintains negotiated agreements
- Direct, coordinate, and facilitate the negotiations process with all employee groups
- Manage all benefits related programs for the District to include health, dental, vision insurance, district life insurance, voluntary products, workers’ compensation, extended leave including FMLA leave, and unemployment filings
- Oversight of district substitute program
- Develops the calendar for all schools, work and employee groups
- Ensure district compliance with federal statutes, policies, and regulations related to human resources including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Equal Opportunity Commission, and Civil Rights Act
- Advise administrators and supervisors on employment law and performance issues including employee investigations, discharge, and discipline
- Design, manage and monitor the administrative, professional, licensed, and classified evaluation systems
- Design, implement and maintain administrative, professional, licensed, classified, and extra-duty compensation systems and salary schedules
- Responsible for background checks for all personnel and volunteers
- In charge of maintaining and updating Policies and Procedures for the District
