Job description snapshot:
- Responsible for annual preparation and monitoring of the fiscal budget and audit
- Supervises multiple departments including accounting, payroll, purchasing, budget management, technology, and athletics
- Responsible for the fiscal activities of the school district including all cash management, investment, accounting, and payroll
- Maintains the fall and spring staffing and enrollment forecasts to ensure adequate staffing at all schools
- Assists the Superintendent in monitoring state legislation as it relates to schools and education
- Responsible for maintaining financial transparency documents for the district
Summary of Functions:
The Chief Financial Officer directs, supervises, and manages all financial management, budget, general accounting, financial reporting, and grant management activities and practices for the district. Performs long and short-range planning, oversees special projects, provides analyses to support bond and mill levy elections, etc.
