D60 BOARD, SUPERINTENDENT RECOGNIZES SHOWCASED ARTISTS

A group of teacher and student artist at a D60 Board meetingFor having their artwork showcased during the 83rd annual Colorado Association of School Boards state convention at The Broadmoor, artists from the elementary, middle, and high school level were recognized Tuesday by the Board of Education and Superintendent Charlotte Macaluso.

"One piece from elementary, middle, and high schools is selected to represent the school district at this annual convention, to showcase the positive impact of the arts on our citizens of tomorrow and to display a school district’s dedication toward securing the arts as part of their curriculum," noted Cindy Smith, the District's Fine Arts Director.

She was invited to aspecial luncheon at the CASB convention and was presented a$1,500 check earmarked for PAA's art department.
