A LOOK AT CHRISTMAS IN THE DISTRICT

Several kids hold presents with Santa looking on in the backgroundIt's been a festive, joyful and giving time throughout the District, as our educators, scholars and supporters have embraced the season with a bevy of activities and offerings.

Thanks to a partnership with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, scholars in five of our elementary schools received brand-new gifts. Once again, Christmas in Bessemer -- championed by the late Ray Aguilera and continued in his memory -- saw gifts and goodies bestowed on scholars from those schools in that area of town.

Many of our buildings have offered in-school shopping, allowing scholars the opportunity to learn the joy of giving by buying items for family members and friends.

There have been plays, musical productions, caroling in the community and at the Administration Building, photo opportunities with Santa, and other activities fitting of the season.

There were even several visits by Chile the Elf of the Pueblo Police Department.

Over the course of the next few days leading into Christmas, we will be sharing images from Christmas in the District on the D60 Facebook Page.
