COVID VACCINE CLINICS COMING TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
In an effort to offer our younger scholars an additional layer of protection against the COVID virus and its variants, District 60 is partnering with the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment to bring mobile vaccination clinics to seven of our elementary schools.
Pfizer’s vaccine is now available for children ages 5 to 11. In October, the FDA authorized the vaccine for elementary school-aged children, pointing out that a kid-sized, two-dose regimen of the vaccine is safe and 90.7% effective.
Local health department officials note that the vaccine is a critical step in helping keep youngsters in the classroom and returning to normal routines in and out of the school building.
In addition to the vaccine for children 5 to 11, both the Pzifer first and second doses, and boosters, will be available at all clinics for eligible students and all community members.
There is no need to pre-register. Simply attend a clinic to receive the vaccine. For those under 18, parental consent is required.
The mobile clinics will be offered at the dates, times and locations provided below.
