PUEBLO ACADEMY OF ARTS WELCOMES NEW PHOENIX

Following the D60 Board of Education’s decision to close Roncalli STEM Academy due to structural issues, Pueblo Academy of Arts has started to welcome Wolves who will be joining the Phoenix Family.

Principal Cservenak wearing a PAA t-shirtOn Tuesday, PAA Principal Albert Farias, staff and the Phoenix rolled out the “purple carpet” to Roncalli families interested learning about the many programs and offerings at PAA.

The open house was designed to engage PAA and Roncalli students in positive relationship building activities that will support the overall transition of students in the coming school year.

Current Roncalli students and their families were able to meet with Phoenix student leaders and staff and enjoy popcorn, refreshments and gifts, including a string backpack and Spirit Shirt.

Representatives of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Pueblo County were on hand to offer information on the Clubs and dish out free hotdogs.

On hand to support the efforts was Roncalli Principal Mike Cservenak and members of his leadership team.

The relationship building activities continued Wednesday, with Roncalli sixth graders who will be transferring to PAA engaging in WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) mixer activities to support the transition. On Thursday, Roncalli seventh graders will engage in the same relationship-building activities.
