D60 BOARD OF EDUCATION RECOGNIZES STATE-LEVEL PERFORMERS

The following top spellers in the District’s annual Bee qualified to participate in Round 1 of the State event:

Aidan Louricas, Nettie S. Freed

Izayah Aguirre, Risley

Trayonna Overton, Pueblo Academy of Arts

Zi Liu, Corwin

For representing the District and their schools at the 2024 Colorado Science and Engineering Fair in Fort Collins, the following delegates were honored:

Kennedy Camacho-Orona and Emma Perry, South

Zechariah Dilley, South

Alex Nuzzo, South

Kenneth Zittel, Central

Willard Wilton, Central

Cynthia Stevens, Risley

Alexander Knight, Corwin

Connor Knight, Corwin

Benjamin Knight, Corwin

For being selected to participate in the 2024 Colorado Elementary All-State Choir, the following vocalists were lauded:

Alixandra Canty, Nathan Duke, Vienna Huntsman, Santana Montoya, Ayannah Rebeterano, Anayah Vasquez, and Leilani Zamora (Columbian Elementary). From Corwin, Benjamin Niemet and Aurora Perez were selected to participate in the 2024 Colorado All-State Middle School Choir.

And Centennial Bulldog Timothy Aguilar auditioned his way onto the 2024 Colorado All-State High School Band.

In wrestling, Central junior Genaro Pino was acknowledged as the 3A 160-pound state champion, as were East junior Manuel “Pocky” Amaro (4A 106) and East freshman Deven Lopez (4A 126). As a team, East was runner-up in 4A.
