JROTC CADETS, GOODNIGHT STUDENTS, HONOR THOSE LAID TO REST AT ROSELAWN

JROTC Cadets holding wreaths salute a grave of a service member at Roselyn CemetaryEach December on National Wreaths Across America Day, a grateful nation remembers, honors and teaches the world about the meaning of selflessness by laying wreaths on the graves of veterans laid to rest in cemeteries across the country.

For the fifth year, Puebloans joined together to ensure that the grave of every veteran (2,600) buried at Roselawn Cemetery received a holiday wreath.

JROTC cadets from Centennial and Central high schools took part in Saturday's Wreaths Across America ceremony, which included remarks by Medal of Honor Recipient Drew Dix (Centennial Class of 1962) and a flyover. Mr. Dix was joined by fellow Bulldog Bruce Elson (Class of 1941), a veteran of World War II.

Under the inspiration of the Goodnight Middle School Leadership Class and teacher Melissa Stecklein, every class at Goodnight School sponsored a wreath, with “students reaching out to friends and family in collecting donations,” noted Alison Selle Louis, Technology Teacher at Goodnight School.
