Congratulations to Corwin International Magnet School eighth grader Jack Centner for a first-place finish in the local Civics Bee, hosted by the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, the Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and Black Hills Energy.
The National Civics Bee competition encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. The competition starts at the local level, hosted by five chamber of commerce partners across the state.
The first step is an essay contest, with judges selecting 20 finalists to participate in a live quiz event testing their civics knowledge. As the local first-place finisher in that quiz, Jack earned $500 and the right to advance to the state-level competition in Denver next month.
