National Education Support Professionals Day - A Letter from Superintendent Macaluso
This week, the Pueblo School District 60 board of education enthusiastically proclaimed Nov. 18 as National Education Support Professionals Day.
Just as public schools are the backbone of our democracy, providing young people with the tools needed to maintain values such as freedom, civility, and equality, education support professionals are a vital part of the backbone of our D60 school community.
We rely on our education support professionals to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for students: a noble duty that’s especially relevant during the global pandemic which has forced all of us to adapt in the face of constant change.
Perhaps you are helping to keep our children fed by preparing and passing out meals, or dedicating countless hours ensuring our buildings are cleaned and sanitized, and that telephones are answered and the correct information is given out.
Maybe your duty is to keep the lines of technology open so that our educators can continue to instruct, and our students to learn.
In whatever manner you are supporting education and our school community, we want you to know that your talents and selflessness are greatly appreciated, this day and every day of the year.
Because without you, our dedicated education support professionals, we simply couldn’t continue to fulfill our mission of providing a high-quality education that assures each student the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to lead a life of purpose and impact.
So once again, thank you for your continued dedication and commitment to our school district.
Sincerely,
Charlotte Macaluso
Superintendent
Pueblo School District 60
