DUTCH CLARK STADIUM RENOVATIONS UNDERWAY
While our scholars and staff are enjoying Spring Break, work crews have been busy giving historic Dutch Clark Stadium a renovative facelift.
Through a partnership between District 60 and the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority, the City’s most iconic athletic facility is to receive $5.2 million in improvements that will breathe new life and longevity into this hub of community activity.
Currently underway, phase one of the project includes site improvements that promote safety and accessibility.
The facility's expansive parking lot will be regraded and repaved to better accommodate the thousands of vehicles that use it throughout the year. In addition, sidewalks have been installed around the perimeter of the parking lot, and lighting will be positioned for added illumination at evening events.
Stadium stairs will be reconditioned and textured to provide easier mobility, with new on-field lighting currently being installed. A retaining wall will be constructed to stabilize the lower road that leads to the main locker rooms.
And to welcome visitors to the improved stadium, an entry feature will be included. Thanks to the efforts of the Trees Please group, a line of beautiful trees will be planted as a further welcoming sign.
The total cost of phase one enhancements is $3.4 million, with the work slated to be complete once the fall football season gets underway.
