On May 4, the second Pueblo D60 Computer Science Convention (CSCon) drew a steady stream of technology-minded scholars to Centennial High School for an evening of space-age learning and exploration.
On May 4, the second Pueblo D60 Computer Science Convention (CSCon) drew a steady stream of technology-minded scholars to Centennial High School for an evening of space-age learning and exploration.With the halls and space of Centennial decked out in a Star Wars-influenced "May the Fourth Be With You: To Explore, Play and Create" theme, participants took advantage of 24 activity stations hosted by volunteers from Google, Collins Aerospace, CSU Pueblo, PCC, the Air Force Academy, Sphero Robotics, Kinazium, Holograms from D11 Palmer HS, and many more.
Students in grades 3 through 12 showcased their talents through projects in 15 categories, including 3D printing, digital artwork, coding challenges, video production, web, app, and game design.
Teams of students also competed in a live robotics competition.
The evening concluded with an awards ceremony.
The convention was organized through the efforts of Paula Herreaz, the District's 21st Century Skills Coach.
