TEACHER APPRECIATION MONTH RECOGNITION

Krista LauricellaAlthough we are grateful for the work of our educators day in and day out, during the month of May, which is Teacher Appreciation Month, we offer a salute to educators who are making an impact in our District and in turn, the world.

Krista Lauricella teaches K-5 ESS at Heritage Elementary.

In her 23rd year of teaching, Krista is praised by colleagues for her leadership and teaching skills, and behavior management.

“She is a hard-working, genuine, caring, patient and kind person,” a colleague said. “It’s no lie that teaching in ESS can be a difficult job, but Krista takes the difficulty in stride. She works tirelessly to ensure that each of her students has the opportunity to be successful in school. She pours her heart and soul into her students and educates them with a goal of growth and success. There has never been a student that Krista hasn’t wanted the best for.”

Noted another colleague, “Parents trust Mrs. Lauricella because they see success with their children. She has had many students on her caseload for several years, which helps to build strong relationships with the families of the children she serves. She also makes herself available to parents whenever necessary.

“She has created an ESS classroom that has a culture of high expectations for all students. She is very knowledgeable and is able to help the most struggling learners gain an understanding and meaning from her instruction. She is warm and caring and does not view teaching as a job, but as her responsibility to enrich the lives of children.”

Thank you, Laura, for all that you do for children and their families.
