ROTARIANS AGAIN DELIVER ON DICTIONARY PROMISE

Rotarian Matt Albright holds a green and white dictionaryFor nearly two decades, members of Pueblo Rotary #43 have contributed to the educational process by purchasing and delivering full color hard-bound Scholastic Children’s Dictionaries to every third grader in Pueblo County.

This year, 1,950 third graders at 33 Pueblo County schools received the dictionaries, with the donation representing a $25,000 financial commitment.

The major fundraiser for the giveaway is the Duck Race, an RC boat race on the Riverwalk with sponsors purchasing the toy ducks that serve as boat "pilots."

Once again lending a hand with the project were members of Pueblo West Rotary, who raised $5,000 and also assisted in the delivery of 450 dictionaries.

At Franklin School of Innovation, Rotarian Matt Albright delivered the books while giving the Bobcats a bit of history on Rotary #43, noting that the club was one of the first 100 chartered in the country.
