A Bradford student carrying books to the checkoutFor the seventh straight year, the Scripps Howard Fund has distributed more than 500,000 new books to children in need as part of its annual “If You Give a Child a Book …” campaign.

On Tuesday, through a partnership that encompasses the foundation, KOAA 5, and Scholastic, the entirety of the Bradford Elementary student body received a cache of brand-new age appropriate books.

Set up inside the Bradford Media Center, the Book Fair shelves housed colorful and interesting tomes in a variety of themes. At no cost, each Eaglet was able to take home five pooks, which an average value of $40-$50.
