D60 Returns to In-Person Instruction
On Monday, January 18, Pueblo School District 60 will resume in-person instruction for preschool, elementary and middle school students enrolled in in-person instruction. In-person preschool and elementary students will return to our buildings 4 days a week; there will be no scheduled changes for fully online elementary students. In-person and fully online middle school students will return to their Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday hybrid schedules.
During the week of January 18, all high school students will continue with distance learning.
On Monday, January 25, high school students enrolled in in-person instruction will return to our buildings. In-person and fully online high school students will all transition to their Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday hybrid schedules.
All students should report to their respective high school based on the Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday hybrid schedule. Two days of in-person instruction will be balanced by two days of remote instruction, according to a student’s hybrid schedule. High school students who remain in the remote (distance) platform will transition to the online hybrid model – two days of synchronous learning and two days of asynchronous learning – beginning Monday, January 25.
The district was able to resume in-person learning due to the fact that the local COVID-19 rate of infection has declined, with Pueblo County moving from “red” on the state’s COVID-19 dial down to “orange.”
However, the need to be vigilant and careful remains important.
Mask wearing, social distancing and other safety protocols will be enforced. In order to keep schools open, we are asking for the continued support of our community in following all safety protocols and keeping abreast of all information released by the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment.
Pueblo County residents 70 and older are currently receiving the COVID-19 vaccination. As teachers have moved up into Phase 1B on the state’s vaccination priority list, it’s anticipated that they will begin to receive the vaccination sometime in March.
