Annual Staff

It is a special and honorable thing to be a part of the great Centennial tradition that spans the course of generations. Graduating generations of professionals – talented, influential, some famous, and all Bulldogs. "The Bulldog", our annual has been there to capture the brief moments in time that make our school, our community, and our legacy live and breathe. Students who are part of 'Annual Staff' have a special place in preserving and documenting Centennial history. Students can take Annual Staff as a class, and continue that work after school hours as a club.

If you love art and want to share it with others who love to create, Art Club may be for you! Meetings are after school on Tuesdays until 4:00 p.m.

Cyber Dogs

Have a knack with computers? Want to match your cyber skills with other teens in the nation? Cyber Dogs is a cyber security club dedicated to helping students learn more about cyber security. Students also compete in national cyber competitions.

DECA (Distributive Education Club of America)

DECA is an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service. The organization prepares leaders and entrepreneurs for careers and education in marketing, finance, hospitality, management, and other business areas.

Drama Club

Centennial Drama Dogs have a rich tradition of excellence and inclusivity for all students interested in being part of high school theater. Centennial has one of the finest theaters in Pueblo and a modern, high-tech lighting and sound system. Drama Dogs put on a play and musical each year, and encourage all students - whether you want to be on stage or behind the scenes - to join the CHS Drama Club.

FBLA is the largest premier student business association in the world. Our mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. Centennial FBLA follows this mission with opportunities for students to compete and learn business skills at school and throughout the state.

GAPP
Sponsor: Frau Moosbrugger
Centennial High School and its partner school, the Remstalgymnasium Weinstadt in Germany, offer a biannual, 3-4 week exchange. Students attend school, stay with their partner's family, and go on an educational excursion. To participate, Centennial students must be enrolled in the German program, attend all preparation meetings, display good behavior, and display satisfactory progress in their classes. Students who are unable to participate in the trip can be involved by hosting a German student or by helping in the Welcome Committee.

Garden Club

Our club promotes the benefits of gardening, including eating a healthy diet and choosing the best foods to support a healthy lifestyle. Students are very active in our club, helping research, order, plant, grow, and nurture herbs and flowers in our makeshift greenhouse. We have started herbs and flowers in our pots, and soon we will transplant them to larger pots. We meet in room 523 on Tuesdays. Our club is soon to begin choosing summer fruits and vegetables to start in pots, with the hope of transferring the plants outdoors for the spring growing season.

The German Club is open to all students who are interested in German language and culture. We sing, eat, do art, play games, go on field trips, and get involved in school activities.

Centennial Girls Cabinet is an organization that pays it forward! Volunteering, hosting events, or giving their time to raise funds, show appreciation, or help the people in their school and community. Membership requires teacher recommendation. Please contact the sponsor for more information.

HOSA (Health Occupations Student Association)

Future Health Professionals is a student organization designed to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping students meet the needs of the health care community. Interested in a career in Healthcare? Join HOSA.
HOSA meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month.

Benvenuti! Join the Italian club and immerse yourself in the cultures and customs of Italy. Italian club members are also eligible to be a part of the Italian National Honor Society. Members do not have to be in an Italian class in order to join.

Key Club
Sponsor: Mr. Petrick
Key Club is an organization sponsored by Kiwanis International. Key Club assists Kiwanis in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing, and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects, and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district, and international levels.

National Honor Society (NHS)

National Honor Society honors the best academic students at Centennial. NHS members host the Academic Letter Assemblies and participate in community service projects. Students interested in NHS must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, and submit their application for selection.
National Honor Society is a national club, that promotes high standards of academic excellence, along with leadership, service, and character. Sophomores or Juniors with a GPA of 3.5 or above are eligible to be nominated to be members. Once sworn in, students must attend monthly meetings, and perform 35 hours of community service. NHS members are expected to be leaders toward the positive promotion of excellence in the aforementioned areas.
NHS students receive certificates of membership, as well as their blue and gold cord for graduation. NHS currently meets the third Monday, of every month.
- New applicants must be current sophomores or juniors.
- Applicants must currently have a 3.5 (or better) grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
- Applicants must have completed a full semester at CHS prior to applying.
- Applicants are accepted into NHS based on the above criteria and their essay.
- Members are required to maintain a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (unweighted.)
- Members are each required to participate in at least 35 hours of community service per year.
- Members are required to attend monthly meetings.

Newman Club

Newman Club is open to any student who wishes to enjoy fellowship and food. The club meets every Tuesday during all lunches, in the 'Club Hub'. Students eat and discuss current issues facing students with a Roman Catholic influence. Discussions center on how to cope and face the challenges students may encounter. Students do not need to be Roman Catholic to attend.

Join the Spanish Club and immerse yourself in the cultures and customs of Spain, Central, and South America. Spanish Club members are also eligible to be inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society. Members do not have to be in a Spanish class in order to join.

Show off your public speaking talents! The Centennial Speech & Debate team travels to competitions throughout Pueblo as well as State and Nationally! Founded in 1884, this organization boasts lots of tradition and talent!
Speech & Debate meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Media.

The goal of our organization is to represent the student body of Centennial. To promote harmonious relationships among the students, teachers, administrators, and the community. To promote the educational and personal welfare of the students, and to promote attitudes and practices of good citizenship by all Centennial students. Above all, excellence is our tradition! We welcome any student interested in leading and participating in school activities, parades, assemblies, and so much more! Please inquire about running for a position in Student Government in room 1508. We hold elections every spring for the upcoming school year, stop in and let Mr. Lewis know if you're interested!

Writing Club

The writing club is open to all students interested in writing fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and graphic novels. We decide what we work on, what we want to share, and what projects and field trips we get involved in. Every November, we get involved in National Novel Writing Month. Writing Club participation is on a drop-in basis, and anyone is welcome anytime!
