EAGLE FCCLA SCHOLARS GET DOWN TO BUSINESS OF ‘BUCKLING UP’
This week, Eagles visited with the Bobcats of Franklin Elementary School to discuss the importance of seatbelt use and to assist the little ones in the crafting of “Buckle Up” bead bracelets.

For two weeks, the Bobcats of Franklin School of Innovation were challenged to score a perfect 100 percent on Advanced Reading tests: with the promise that if the goal was achieved, they would have a chance to see favorite teachers get all wet.

SOUTH'S MAURICE AUSTIN REPEATS AS PLAYER OF THE YEAR
South senior point guard Maurice "Mo" Austin capped his high school career in fitting fashion by pulling off the rare feat of repeating as CHSAA's 5A Player of the Year, along with a spot on the 5A All State First Team. Mo led the state in scoring and was a presence in both the steals and assists categories. This season, he staked his claim as the city's all time top scorer, and will enter the all time Colorado Top 10 list.

“We have worked with student-athlete groups including Central football, Centennial boys soccer and girls basketball, as well as staff at Columbian and Haaff and for a District professional development,” Katie said. District 60 was well represented in the 2024 Boys and Girls Clubs of Pueblo County’s annual Champions of Youth Dinner at Pueblo Convention Center. Ted Johnson, a lifelong educator who currently serves as D60’s Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, was named 2024 Grand Champion of Youth.
