D60 Foodworks: Nutrition Services

  • A D60 Foodworks lunch room

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.
The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being, and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Beginning Friday, January 22nd, and continuing until further notice, meals will be available for all children between the ages of 1 and 18. Meals will be distributed in the rear parking lot, or front bus lane depending on location, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday, at the following schools:

Centennial HS  •  Central HS  •  East HS  •  South HS  •  Risley MS

    * Meals are served on a first come first served basis based on product availability. Though we will strive to ensure we can feed all who wish to participate.

No registration is required.    Again this service is only for children between the ages of 1 and 18.

On Fridays, children can receive 14 meals (7 breakfasts and 7 lunches). White milk will be distributed in half-gallon portions and while available, additional fruits and vegetables will be offered in bulk format to elementary-aged children.  All meals are offered on a first come first serve basis and are tailored for curbside pickup to be prepared at home.

All meals will exceed the USDA nutritional requirements, with the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program funding the meal distribution.

Children do not have to be present to receive meals.

Those who drive to a distribution site are asked to remain in their vehicle, as the meals will be passed through the window, based on the number of recipient children. Meals cannot be consumed on site.

The district encourages families to continue to be proactive in reducing the risk of COVID-19 by not congregating at the distribution site once the meals are received. Masks should be worn when in public, with the frequent washing of hands recommended.

When sneezing or coughing, do so into a tissue, and if you are feeling sick, remain at home.
