Information for Families

Your student’s new school will be reaching out to you during the 4th quarter with additional information as well as an invitation to a family event where you can visit the school, meet the staff, and learn about their programs.  In the meantime, you can also find information about all of our district schools at pueblod60.org

Our district 60 schools are committed to creating a welcoming environment for students and their families.  Merging schools have formed collaborative committees to work together on the transition process.  During the 4th quarter, students will have the opportunity to visit their new school and engage with their new peers.  There will also be an opportunity for families to attend an event at the school.  In the fall, schools will continue to engage in activities that provide students with opportunities to get to know one another and build community.

A team member from our ESS department will be reaching out to all families of students with an IEP to answer questions and discuss specific needs.  They will work directly with your child’s former school and their new school to make the transition as smooth as possible.

All D60 families have the opportunity to explore school choice.  You can apply for a seat at a different D60 school through the choice lottery beginning on XXX.  We’d also encourage you to attend the D60 School Showcase taking place on from 10:00-12:00 on February 28th at the Fortino Ballroom (located on the Pueblo Community College Campus)

A  precollegiate middle school is specifically designed as the first stage of a "university-bound" mindset, focused on advanced pacing, college and career readiness and ability to earn high school credit while in middle school.

Students who live within the school's boundary area will automatically be enrolled  but all families outside the boundary area are welcome to apply to attend the school using the school choice process.

Hyde Park Precollegiate campus is located at 2727 W. 18th St.

Students will be required to follow D60 student dress code policy but there is not a specific Hyde Park Precollegiate Middle School uniform.  

Opportunities for participation in extracurricular activities will be available. While students will join forces with neighboring middle schools to participate in competitive sports teams, they will have the exclusive opportunity to build and lead their own clubs and organizations.

The district will provide transportation for students within the Bessemer, Beulah Heights, and Bradford attendance boundaries. Students living in these areas will be transported to their new, corresponding merged campus:

• Bessemer → Columbian

• Beulah Heights → Highland Park

• Bradford → Park View

Transportation will also be provided for rising fifth-grade students within the Irving and Morton attendance boundaries who plan to attend Hyde Park Pre-Collegiate Middle School.
