D60's Second Parent and Family Academy Night

Family Night

The District’s second Parent and Family Academy of the school year, with a focus on CPR and first aid and, was facilitated by D60 nurses Darcey Hansen, Nicole Eller and Kelly McLean, and attended by more than 50 guests.

The nurses' presentation addressed the basics of CPR/AED and first aid; how to administer naloxone (narcan); and hands-on CPR practice with mannequins.

The Parent and Family Academy program aims to support families in areas identified through a needs assessment. These events are free and open to all D60 parents and families.

The next Parent and Family Academy will focus on Healthy Student Choices and will be held on the following dates:

 November 12, 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Corwin International Magnet School; for parents of middle school students

  • November 13 at Heaton Middle School

    • 4:30 -5:30 p.m.; for parents of middle school students

    • 5:45- 6:45 p.m.; for parents of high school students

Presenters from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment will speak on topics such as developing bodies, changing emotions, relationships with peers, and other important matters.
