Cashing in at Corwin

At Corwin, students can earn up to $10 a week in “Corwin Cash” by being responsible learners—arriving on time, completing assignments, and demonstrating positive behavior. Their earnings can be spent on special privileges such as becoming “Principal for a Day” or “Teacher for a Day,” cutting the lunch line, running morning announcements, or enjoying Esports at recess.

Using his Corwin Cash, Cyclone Colton shadowed Principal Ryan Masciotra for a day, assisting with administrative duties.

“It would be cool to be a principal one day,” Colton said.

"Well," said a staff member. "Start saving your money!"

Throughout the building, other hardworking students also cashed in their rewards to lead classroom instruction. 

On the reverse side, students who fall short of their academic and behavioral responsibilities are “taxed,” reducing their Corwin Cash balance and reinforcing a real-world lesson about the connection between effort, accountability, and reward.
