September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month: a time to raise awareness of this stigmatized, and often taboo, topic. This month is dedicated to ensuring that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.
This month, the Colorado Department of Education released preliminary District and School Performance Frameworks based on assessment results and growth data. The performance frameworks will become official once accepted by the Colorado State Board of Education.
On any given day, the District is in need of 100 to 200 guest, or substitute, teachers at all grade levels. This is an ideal position for high school graduates 21 and older with a love of working with children and a flexible schedule. One of the District’s dedicated and hard-working guest teachers is Michelle Jones, a proud alumnus of South.
CareerWise Colorado connects education and industry to provide high school students with paid apprenticeships in 30 different occupational fields, including business, education, manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, information technology, construction and more.
