Welcome to Pueblo School District 60!
Each of our schools has a distinct personality and offers something unique for its students. There truly is a place for everybody at one of our 29 schools, and we're excited for opportunity to provide your child with a high-quality education that assures each student the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to lead a life of purpose and impact. If you want to get your children in school for the coming school year, you can register online now or visit your neighborhood school to register in person in when school is in session.
Enrollment in D60, step-by-step
-
Step 1: Is my child eligible to enroll?
The following are eligible to enroll in District 60 schools
- Children that are five years old on or before Oct. 1 of that school year are eligible for Kindergarten. Learn more about our Kindergarten enrollment process to register (And you can even register online!)
-
Children under the age of 21 on the first day of school are eligible for enrollment.
Non-U.S. citizens
Children who are not U.S. citizens and have not attended a U.S. school continuously for the past two years, or are U.S. citizens who have attended a non-U.S. school overseas, are eligible for enrollment with an official valid birth certificate and immunization records from their birth country. For eligibility questions, please contact the Student Registration office at (719)253-6014 or email registration@pueblod60.org.
-
Step 2: What school will my child attend?
Your child's school is based on your child's home address and the grade your child will be entering. Find your home on District 60 attendance areas and boundary maps to determine your child's assigned "neighborhood school."
If you want to attend a school other than your child's assigned neighborhood school, you have several options:
- Select a school using the School Choice process, and be added to that school's waiting list. District 60 has a diverse selection of schools, one of which would likely be a perfect fit for your child. (Note that D60 can make no guarantee that your child will win a spot at his or her chosen school)
- District 60 offers application-based preschool program for 3- and 4-year-olds. Learn more about our preschool application process if you are interested in applying.
- Two charter schools, Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences and Chavez/Huerta Preparatory Academy, are application-based schools chartered through District 60. Contact those schools directly to learn more about enrollment.
-
