Principal’s Message

  • Welcome to the Home of the Minnequa Heroes

Thank you to our entire Minnequa community for making the 20-21 school year the best it could possibly be. The staff at Minnequa is incredibly honored that our wonderful families allow us to be a part of their scholar's lives. A huge shout out to all of our parents, scholars, and staff for being relentless in this uncertain time.  It is extremely important that scholars continue to read, write, practice math, and enjoy time with their friends and family this summer. Just a friendly reminder, Minnequa will purchase ALL the school supplies for this year!

We miss and love our scholars!

This school year we have lots of exciting programs, supports, and opportunities. The Innovation status will continue to allow us to engage in high quality, standards-based curriculum such as Engage New York Math and ELA and Project Lead the Way. Additionally, we implement Blended Learning. Minnequa is a school where scholars are given the opportunity to acquire skills to be college or workforce ready. A school where they can organize their thinking and space, set and achieve goals, and much more. These are just a few of the exciting opportunities that we are providing for scholars.  We don't want to leave out our Community Garden Project, YMCA sports, and that we are a recipient of a Food Pantry grant from Care and Share for the 2022-2023 school year.

Our school handbook has detailed information about our school, systems, and curriculum. You can find the handbook on a link to the left under parent resources. Additionally, you can view our calendar on this page on a top link.  The calendar is updated with the Innovation Zone Calendar as well as events that happen throughout the year.

    Our Vision:

We will create a culture of learning that develops all scholars into tomorrow’s extraordinary citizens.

    Our Mission:

We will engage scholars in authentic learning that empowers them to reach their highest potential in a changing global community.

We look forward to partnering with you in the 2021-2022 school year!  Feel free to contact us at 549-7580 should you have any questions, would like to visit our school, or want to learn more about attending Minnequa, volunteering at Minnequa, or working at Minnequa.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Harshman
