My name is Joe Vigil, I am the Head Baseball Coach at Centennial. I have coached at Centennial since 1997 (25 years) starting as the Freshman coach (12 yrs) then the JV coach (9 yrs) and the last 5 years as the Head Coach.

I played baseball from age 5 until I was 20, playing for multiple All Star teams and traveling the state. I was a 3 year letterman for South High School and attended UNC my freshman year in 1993.

My vision for our program is to get the most out of our athletes and create a competitive and enjoyable environment. I want to compete at the highest level possible at all times. I preach student/athlete with a big emphasis on the classroom. We teach life lessons that while help you be successful during your playing days but will last long past your playing career.

My education includes a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences with an emphasis in education from CSU-Pueblo.  I have 2 children both of which have came through Centennial High. I have been married for 21 years.

My philosophy is team first and player development with high character as a focal point.

Our summer/off season workouts include competing in Runyon High School Leagues and compete in tournaments.

I have just finished my 25th year as head boys soccer coach and I am entering my 26th year as head girls soccer coach.  I am also in my 21st year being a Social Studies teacher.  All of these years have been at Centennial.  I am married to my wife of 22 years, Michelle; and I have two wonderful daughters that I have had the privilege of coaching at Centennial.  Throughout these years my philosophy has not changed.  I believe in giving everyone an opportunity to play as I have a "no cut" policy.  I am proud to say we have been the only program in the Pueblo area to offer a JV team every season in both boys and girls.  I believe in life-lessons and preparing student-athletes to succeed after high school.  I pride myself on being an educator and have seen the success of being in the school with my athletes.  I check with many of my athletes daily and constantly keep track of their grades which is a huge advantage for our program.

As far as soccer I focus on fundamentals and consider myself a great teacher of the technical side of the game.  I earned my NSCAA National High School Diploma and have years of coaching experience at the club level.  The success of our boys and girls soccer program is well documented but I do not gauge my success by wins and losses.  I know I give my all to the athletes both in the classroom and on the field and that helps prepare them for life after high school.

We will be offering our traditional summer workouts beginning in July.  Please email me for exact days and times.  I look forward to your son or daughter to attend one of the best soccer programs in Colorado and a fantastic academically focused school.

I have played tennis for over 40 years in juniors, high school and college.  I am currently a Reading Interventionist at Baca Elementary School. I have coached at Centennial for over 6 years. I like the girls to have fun, be competitive and give it their all.  Tennis is a lifetime sport and I want to encourage my girls to play for a lifetime, not just for the season.
