Student Activities
Extra-curricular and/or co-curricular activities play a vital role in the life and tradition of any school. Students’ first responsibility is to their educational preparation in the pursuit of academic excellence. Participation and involvement in school activities is an education of a different sort, yet important to well-rounded middle school experience.
Commitment to the school and its programs help students develop a sense of belonging - a sense of achievement.
Involvement in athletics, clubs, and organizations helps students cultivate relationships that can be rewarding and long-lasting. Participation helps students develop an understanding of people and helps them establish loyalties to teammates, to this school, and to the community.

Instrumental Music
The Instrumental Music program at Pueblo Academy of Arts offers students a rich variety of choices for their musical experience. Students may participate in the String Orchestra, the Concert Band, or the Guitar Ensemble. Membership in the Jazz Ensemble is available to students by audition.
The advanced ensembles from Pueblo Academy of Arts enjoy opportunities to travel to local and regional festivals. The Concert Band and the String Orchestra enjoy consistently excellent ratings at the festival, and the Jazz Ensemble regularly performs around the community for charitable and municipal events.
Students who participate in the Instrumental Music program at Pueblo Academy of Arts are expected to rent or purchase their own instruments. We believe that this is a positive first step toward the commitment that playing an instrument requires. If you have any questions about instrument brands, please contact Mr. Bushkovski. He will gladly provide you with a list of trusted names in musical instruments. He can also refer you to our local businesses that rent or sell only these trusted brands.
Pueblo Academy of Arts has several instruments that may be loaned to students in need. We will find an instrument either "in house" or from our partners in Pueblo City Schools for the student to play as they learn about music. These instruments are "checked out" to the student (paperwork must be on file) and become the responsibility of the student, including maintenance (valve oil, slide/cork grease, keeping the instrument clean and safe) and repairs if necessary.
Join us as we learn about the world through the power of music.
