Dear Morton Families,
Welcome to the 2024-25 School Year! It is such a privilege to be leading Morton as Principal. I am very excited to welcome you to our Morton family this academic school year. This will be my second year as School Principal and I know it is going to be amazing. As a born and raised Puebloan, I have 24 years of teaching, coaching and administrative experience in our great district. I am ready to continue this leadership role of my career as a Morton Bulldog! I cannot wait to meet and get to know the students and families of Morton and I know, together, we will strive to become the best school, student, educational provider, and community partner possible!Morton's staff are dedicated to work with the scholars at Morton preparing them for an amazing future that they deserve. We will continue to work through each adventure and challenge as it presents itself ensuring that we all learn and grow with each presented opportunity. It is Team Morton’s mission to create a rigorous learning environment through high expectations for every single student. We will create college-bound and workforce-ready, successful contributing citizens who leave us with the excellent skills needed to be able to achieve their highest aspirations. I anticipate a year filled with many successes, as my team and I support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child here at Morton Elementary School.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students of Morton with the best possible opportunities to prepare them to be world-class citizens, ready to master the challenges of the 21st Century with a solid foundation created here at Morton. We will all work on "filling buckets" of those around us and creating an environment where all feel welcome and safe.
Looking forward to a fantastic year filled with many exciting opportunities and learning moments. It is time to become the best selves that we can be. Together, we will make it happen!Sincerely and with great care,
Kristie Lopez
