Haaff Elementary is truly a neighborhood school, and since 1961, decades of children from the Belmont neighborhood have taken their first steps toward success after flourishing inside of Haaff's walls.

Students at Haaff learn in an inviting, bright and colorful atmosphere that tickles the senses and fills students with an excitement to learn.

Haaff is committed to excellence in many forms. High academic achievement, character development, and a commitment to health and safety are high priorities at Haaff Elementary School. We offer many programs that are designed to enrich and enhance your child’s educational experiences including our STEM-based Gifted and Talented Program, Daily 5 Reading Structure, Number Talks, Tiger Trailblazers Student Leadership, Art Appreciation Nights, two Preschool programs, and after school tutoring.

Through these programs, Haaff students are taught to positively impact their neighborhood, their community, and ultimately, to lead.

  • About the School Name

Haaff Grade School opened in 1961 and is named after Clarence F. Haaff, who spent nearly 40 years in the District, retiring as Supervisor of Buildings and Maintenance.

An engineer by trade, Mr. Haaff felt his greatest contribution to the District and the city was his work in developing what is now known as Dutch Clark Stadium.

Born in 1892, Mr. Haaff died in April 1987 at the age of 94.
