TITLE I COMPACT
OVERVIEW
Belmont Elementary and the parents of the students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high academic standards.BELMONT ELEMENTARY WILL:
Provide a high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards as follows:
Differentiated instruction for all students
“Highly Qualified” teachers in every classroom support rigor and depth of knowledge in data-driven instruction, promoting student growth, and mastery of skills needed to meet the educational challenges of the 21st century
A safe and engaging learning environment that incorporates PBIS, No Bully,and SEL curriculum.
Family engagement and support programs that encourage family involvement in student achievement
Professional Learning Communities will ensure that teachers are prepared for instruction aligned to state and national standards, assessment data is analyzed to examine trends and determine next steps, and instructional adjustments are made to ensure every child learns at his maximum potential.
Hold parent-teacher conferences during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement. Specifically, those conferences will be held:
During the week of October 21, 2024
Back to School August 26, 2024
Title I night in which the compact and Title I Parent Involvement will be discussed
Spring Parent Teacher Conference week of March 17, 2025
Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress. Specifically, the school will provide reports as follows:
Communicate through a student planner or take-home folder.
IStation parent portal access/Quarterly Printed Reports
Inform parents of all school events/meetings as well and encourage parents to attend
Prepare for report card conferences with samples of student work and expectations of proficiency in each subject area
Quarterly report cards
RtI Meetings for identified students
Provide parents reasonable access to staff. Specifically, staff will be available for consultation with parents as follows:
Daily Check in Sheets (K-2) or Daily Classroom Planner (3-5)
Family Engagement Nights
Hold an annual “Open House” to meet staff and learn about Title I programs
Weekly Messenger’s, Emails, Facebook Posts with important information
Parent-Teacher Organization meetings
School website
Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class, and to observe classroom activities, as follows:
Complete volunteer background check
Make arrangements with the classroom teacher for a time and specific volunteer activities
Make arrangements with the counselor for time and specific volunteer activities
Sign-in and wear a volunteer badge at all times
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
We, as students, will share the responsibility to improve our academic achievement and achieve the State’s high standards. Specifically, we will:
Read at least 30 minutes every day outside of school time.
Give to my parents or the adult who is responsible for my welfare all notices and information received by me from the school every day
Attend school regularly.
Engage in the No Bully Protocol to make our school a safe place.
Engage in classroom social contracts to maintain behavior agreement in the classroom.
Help make our school a safe place for all students.
Set personal goals for achievement.

Inform parents about the goals and purposes of Title I, curriculum used in Title I programs, academic assessments used to measure student progress, and proficiency levels students are expected to meet.
Involve parents in the planning, review, and improvement of Title I programs at school.
If the Title I Plan is not satisfactory to the parents, submit parent comments on the plan to the district.
If requested by parents, provide opportunities for regular meetings where parents may offer suggestions or ask questions.
Provide timely responses to parent’s suggestions/questions.
Provide assistance to parents, as appropriate, in understanding assessments, Title I requirements, monitoring academic progress, and how to work together to improve student achievement.
