    Fountain Learning Commons Procedures

Welcome to Fountain Learning Commons. We want students to actively use the learning commons as a part of their weekly schedule. Students may visit to check out books. The classroom teacher will determine the times that will work within their schedule. All students need to have a large plastic bag that they use to protect their books. Mrs. G. will give each student one when the school year begins. If the bag is lost, the replacement cost is a quarter.

Kindergarten students may check out 2 books after fall break while 1, 2, 3 graders can check out 3 books.

Fines are not charged for late materials. Overdue notices will be sent to students on an "as-needed basis". If at any time a book does get damaged, please call or send a note with your child. I look forward to working with your child(ren) in the media center.

    New Hours:

The Fountain Learning Commons is open from 7:45 to 3:45. Students can visit before school and also during the school day as determined by their classroom teacher. All students will have lessons in the media center. Students will utilize technology and print resources as they locate and find information. Teachers co-plan with the media specialist to integrate technology, research, and reading into their classroom curriculum.
