Graduation Requirements

Students may show their high school competency in English/Language Arts and Math by demonstrating minimum requirements for one of the following: A standardized test (Accuplacer, ACT, ACT WorkKeys, ASVAB, or SAT), Advanced Placement (AP) exam, International Baccalaureate (IB) exam, concurrent enrollment, industry certification, or a district Capstone project.

The Career Plus Avenue Course of Study

The Career Plus Avenue Course of Study is intended for students that plan to obtain a 4-year or advanced college degree.

Students following the Career Plus avenue are advised to select courses based on the admission requirements of their desired college/university. For more information, consult the District 60 High School Course Description Guide.

  • Life science content

The Career Options Avenue Course of Study

The Career Options Avenue Course of Study is intended for students with goals and plans to obtain a 2‐ or 4-year degree or professional certification

Students following the Career Options avenue are advised to select courses based on the admission requirements of their desired college, trade school or certifcation program. For more information, consult the District 60 High School Course Description Guide.

The Career Now Avenue Course of Study is intended intended for students who have specific academic requirements and need additional guidance for their course of study; students may earn a professional certificate upon graduation.

The Career Now Avenue is by team recommendation only. Specific aspects of this avenue must be approved by a school support team, parents and/or guardians, and students.

A student may graduate at the end of the junior year or at the end of the first semester of the senior year provided that the student has completed a minimum of 24 credits and has met other graduation requirements established by the Board of Education.
