Concurrent Enrollment

Thanks to a community partnership with Pueblo Community College and Colorado State University-Pueblo, Pueblo School District 60 students can take advantage of the Pueblo Early College Education Program (PECEP), which allows students to take college/university-level course work while earning their high school diploma. This includes the opportunity to take classes on the PCC and CSU-Pueblo campus alongside those schools' currently enrolled students.

If you are a Pueblo School District 60 junior or senior, you must successfully pass the college-level Accuplacer test and meet all course requirements set forth by District 60 for each program. Sophomores are accepted into the program on a part-time basis if space is available.

Students are not required to quit any extracurricular activities in order to take part in the PECEP concurrent enrollment program. All students are encouraged to make the most of their high school years, and such activities are certainly a vital part of the high school experience!

However, students taking part in the concurrent enrollment program must be able to manage their time and organization. Sometimes, that means cutting back on extracurricular activities. 

In the end, involvement in extracurricular activities is ultimately up to the student.
