Parent/Child Reunification Process
In the event of an early dismissal due to an emergency situation, District 60 will employ a “reunification process” to ensure that students are safely returned to their parent or guardian. The reunification process is designed with student safety in mind.
- Students are taken to a safe reunification area under adult observation. The area may be inside the school, or at an external location communicated to parents and guardians.
Here are some key points to know:
Stay Home: If an incident occurs at school, please do not come to the school. This will only delay reunification with your child.
Stay Informed: Ensure your Infinite Campus parent/guardian contact information is current and accurate. Pueblo D60 will inform you where and when to go to pick-up your child. If safe to do so, your child may also inform you where to meet them.
Be Ready: Have your phone charged and driver’s ID ready to present to Pueblo D60 staff at the reunification site. As soon as you receive the notification, it will be time to respond.
Please be patient during the reunification process, as these are often busy and hectic times for everyone involved. Please know that getting your child safely back home is our top priority.
- Follow directions. Greeters will be on-site to explain the reunification process.
- Have a photo ID or be prepared to verify their custody rights over the child.
- Fill out a Reunification Card.
- Wait patiently while your child is retrieved from the reunification area.
