NIMS

All Pueblo City Schools employees who work directly with children are required to take the following NIMS courses and tests through the FEMA- Emergency Management Service through the Federal Government. Please follow the steps below to complete these courses.

 

Two Courses are required:

IS-362.A: Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for Schools

IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100

1. You are required to make a SID to log into NIMS. Please visit this link to make a SID and keep the SID in a safe spot for reference.

2. Follow the course links above. On the right hand side, follow along with the "Interactive Web Based Courses" and after completion, "Take Final Exam Online"

3. After passing the exam, you will receive a certificate with your name and the NIMS course listed. You will log into TNL and click on "Credit Requests". You will submit a "New Credit Request" for each NIMS course you complete. Fill out all information on the form and upload your certificate. We will approve the request and it will be uploaded to your transcript.

Reminder: You only have to take each test once. After you upload your certificates in TNL, you will not have to take the tests again.

Trouble Shooting:

If you are having issues accessing the final exam or anything on the FEMA website try the following steps:

  • Use Firefox or Internet Explorer, Chrome will not work
  • Clear your history
  • Clear your cache
  • Log out of the FEMA website
  • Restart your computer

After completing these steps you should no longer have issues accessing the information.
