Fresh flavors, and new recipes are featured throughout our district

Students across Pueblo D60 are welcome to enjoy exciting new breakfast and lunch menus featuring new, on-trend recipes and classic favorites.

Students can look forward to bold flavors, local dishes, and new twists on cafe classics on our menus this year. Favorite featured menu items include waffles, made from scratch enchiladas and bistro bowls, and of course, our made from scratch local Pueblo pork green chile.Students can also anticipate their classic favorites to make an appearance, including Pizza, Breakfast for Lunch, and traditional green chile.

“SFE’s made from scratch approach uses fresh ingredients, herbs, and seasonings to create flavorful dishes that are also healthy for our students,” said Mike Martin, General Manger “Our students can truly taste the difference in our menus because our chefs use quality ingredients to bring out the best flavors in every recipe.”

Pueblo D60 students can also expect to see exciting events in the café throughout the year including Roving Chef visits, which gives students a hands-on experience cooking alongside an SFE Chef. Students are also encouraged to provide feedback and participate in focus groups, and we also provide monthly celebrations including taco Tuesday, and our annual community Thanksgiving Celebration.

Students and families can review all menus online by utilizing the mobile app linked on the right- hand side of this page. Download the Web Menus App from the Apple or Google Store, and search for your student's school name to view full nutritional values and the ingredient panel for all menu items.

SFE is proud to partner with Pueblo D60 with the mission of enhancing your children's quality of life through fresh and wholesome food, a strong focus on nutrition, and unparalleled customer service.

We offer multiple entree concepts at lunch as well as milk, sides, and a fresh vegetable and fruit bar daily. Meals are nutritionally analyzed to meet federal standards of nutrition.

Pueblo D60 continues to provide meals at no charge to all enrolled students. Pueblo D60 will serve students a nutritious breakfast and lunch, provided by SFE. The program runs according to the district instructional calendar.

Community Eligible Provision Program (CEP) & Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA)

In Pueblo School District 60, breakfast and lunch is free of charge at all schools through the federal Community Eligible Provision program and the Healthy School Meals for All Program.

All students enrolled in Pueblo School District 60 may participate in the breakfast and lunch program at no charge. Pueblo School District 60 participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a provision available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs with high numbers of students who receive SNAP benefits.

What does this mean for you and your child(ren)?

All students enrolled in Pueblo School District 60 may participate in the breakfast and lunch program at no charge, regardless of the student's individual eligibility status.

Studies have shown that children who are not hungry perform better in school. By providing lunch for all children at no charge, we are hoping to create a better learning environment for our students.

Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA DIETARY GUIDELINES. All meals, foods, and beverages are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals. The School Breakfast and Lunch Programs cannot succeed without your support; please encourage your children to participate in the school meal programs.

D60 Nutrition Services Department Civil Rights Complaint Policy

Policy: United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)/Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Instruction 113-1 (dated 11/8/05) delineates the civil rights requirements for participants in Child Nutrition Programs (CNP). The following is required at the local school food authority (SFA) level.

Any person alleging discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), age, or disability has a right to file a complaint within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory action. All civil rights complaints within Pueblo School District‘s Food and Nutrition Services Department should be directed to Dana Elkins-Greene. Dana Elkins-Greene can be reached via phone at 719-549-7203 or by email at dana.elkinsgreene@pueblod60.org. Complaints can be submitted verbally, in writing, or anonymously.
