Preschool Enrollment for the 4-year-old Children (2026–2027 School Year)
Please follow the steps below if your child will be 4 years old on or before October 1, 2026.
Step 1: Complete the Colorado Universal Preschool (UPK) Application
Complete the 2026–2027 Universal Preschool Application through the state of Colorado.

This link will take you to the State of Colorado Universal Preschool website, which lists all UPK providers in Colorado. If you wish to enroll in a District 60 preschool program, be sure to select District 60 schools when choosing your preferences.
Step 2: Complete District 60 Preschool Online Enrollment
After completing the UPK application, submit the 2026–2027 District 60 Preschool Online Enrollment.

Please have these documents ready to upload when completing the registration.
Required documents:
- Child’s birth certificate
- Immunization records
- Proof of address (mortgage statement, lease agreement, or major utility bill)
- Parent/guardian photo ID
Please note that failure to upload all required documents will make your enrollment incomplete. Incomplete enrollments cannot be processed until all required documents have been submitted.
Step 3: Wait for Placement
Important Universal Preschool (UPK) Placement Dates
December 9, 2025:
- Applications open for families to apply for Universal Preschool (UPK).
December 9, 2025 – February 2, 2026:
- Families who apply during this window will be included in UPK’s first round of matching placements.
February 25, 2026 – March 6, 2026- First Round of Matching:
- Families will be notified of their match placement offer by 5:00 p.m. on February 25, 2026.
- Families must accept or decline the offer by 11:59 p.m. on March 6, 2026.
February 3, 2026 – March 15, 2026:
- Families who apply during this window will be included in UPK’s second round of matching placements.
March 24, 2026 – March 31, 2026- Second Round of Matching:
- Families will be notified of their match placement offer by 5:00 p.m. on March 24, 2026.
- Families must accept or decline the offer by 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2026.
April 1, 2026- Direct Enrollment Begins:
After April 1, 2026, there will be no additional UPK matching rounds. Families will work directly with District 60's Early Childhood Department to secure a preschool seat placement. Our Early Childhood Department will contact families by email or phone during the matching process and the direct enrollment process. Families will have one week to accept or decline the placement offers.
After the two general matching rounds, applications move into direct enrollment; UPK applications will be placed on a waitlist if no seats are available. If a seat becomes available, families will be contacted directly.

Selecting Preschool Preferences
When applying for Universal Preschool (UPK), you may select up to 10 preschool programs during the initial application period. Beginning April 1, 2026, when Direct Placement starts, families may select up to 3 preschool programs.
Please rank your program selections in order of preference, with #1 being your most preferred choice.
Preschool Program Options
Children who are 4 years old on or before October 1, 2026, may be eligible for the following programs:
Half-Day Preschool (AM)
- 15 hours per week
- 4 days per week: Monday-Thursday
- Available for 4-year-olds only
- 8:00 AM - 11:45 AM
- Available at the following sites: Baca, Minnequa, Morton, and South Park
Half-Day Preschool (PM)
- 15 hours per week
- 4 days per week: Monday-Thursday
- Available for 4-year-olds only
- 12:45 PM - 3:15 PM
- Available at the following sites: Belmont, Goodnight, Haaff, and Irving
Full-Day Preschool
- 30 hours per week
- 4 days per week: Monday–Thursday
- Available for 4-year-olds only
- Bradford 7:45 AM - 3:15 PM
- Heritage 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
