Student Representative

Members of the student advisory cabinet present at a board meeting

Ex-Officio (Non-voting) Student Representative to the Board of Education

Two high school students will now advise the D60 Board of Education in a non-voting capacity, giving the district's student body a more prominent voice in policy and decisions.

The D60 Board of Education approved a request by the Superintendent's Student Advisory Cabinet to seat one non-voting student representative and one alternate to the Board on April 28, 2026 (Policy JIBB, adopted on May 12, 2026).

In this role, the student representatives will serve as a vital “bridge” between the student body and district leadership.

This one-year position is designed to amplify student voices while creating meaningful opportunities to advocate for new ideas, solutions and positive change. Their term will be slated to begin on August 1st.

Current freshmen and sophomores are eligible to apply for the position. Final candidates will be selected to participate in an interview process led by senior Superintendent's Student Advisory Cabinet members, with Cabinet sponsors and a structured scoring rubric. One representative and one alternate would then be recommended by the Superintendent to the Pueblo District 60 Board of Education for a one-year term beginning August 1st, 2026.

Complete applications can be turned into their school principal or counselor no later than 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026.
