On Tuesday, representatives of the Colorado Teacher of the Year Program, together with District leadership and community members, honored not only the 2020-2021 award recipients but those honored in 2020 who were unable to be acknowledged in a public reception due to the pandemic.
"Everywhere I looked, improving the education system was where a lot of problems stemmed from. When I looked around me, the biggest impact I could have on this world began with empowering youth. "Our children are the future, but to get there they need strong leaders: strong educators. When you think about every position of power, every job possible, many people begin their story with a teacher that motivated them and pushed them to be better.
This week, some 2,600 staffers will be receiving a branded Soft Touch Accent Gel Pen with colored stylus, along with a card bearing the Foundation’s rebranded logo and this message: “Thank you for all your great work and resilience over the last school year. We appreciate you!”
Launched four years ago by fervent youth advocate and champion Jesse Sena, and proclaimed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis, Colorado Youth Awareness Week is a time to highlight young people’s positive influence while lauding the outstanding community organizations which encourage healthier lifestyles and life choices for young people.
