Home School Enrollment
-
Pueblo School District 60 wants to help make your home school enrollment process easier. Please review the information below and contact us if you need additional assistance. You can reach the home school coordinator Monday through Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at (719) 253-6014 or via email at homeschool@pueblod60.org.
Once you complete the home school enrollment process, you will receive a confirmation letter from the District 60 home school coordinator by email (if provided when you enrolled) or by U.S. Mail.
Each July, you will receive a reminder by email or U.S. Mail to renew your home school enrollment. Continuing your homeschool enrollment is easy. You can either respond to the letter you receive or fill out a Notice of Intent (Notice of Intent - Spanish) form for the current school year and send it to homeschool@pueblod60.org or mail it to:
Pueblo School District 60

If your child has never attended a D60 school:
Parents wishing to enroll their child in a home school program need to file a Notice of Intent (Notice of Intent - Spanish).
E-mail your completed Notice of Intent form to homeschool@pueblod60.org, or mail to:
Pueblo School District 60
Attn: Home School Coordinator

Pueblo, CO 81003 -
If your child currently attends a D60 school:
If your child current attends a District 60 school, you must go to your child's current school to begin the check out process.
As part of that process, you will be asked to fill out a Notice of Intent Form (Notice of Intent - Spanish).
If your child has frequently been absent, you may also be asked to fill out additional paperwork describing the program you will be using to educate your child at home. This form is called Written Description of Curricula.
If you are required to fill out the Written Description of Curricula form, we urge you to continue to have your child attend until the curriculum you provide is approved. This process will ensure that you and your family are in compliance with state law and have no issues concerning truancy.
Once you have completed a Notice of Intent, a Written Description of Curricula has been approved (if applicable), and you have checked your child out of school, you are ready to begin your home school program.
-
If your child is continuing home school:
Continuing homeschool families need to fill out the Notice of Intent Form (Notice of Intent - Spanish) 14 days before beginning their next year of home-based education.
-
Testing requirements
Each student in a home-based program must be tested in grades 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11. If the student’s composite score is above the 13th percentile, the student remains eligible for home-based education and is not subject to the compulsory attendance requirements.
If you have provided your Notice of Intent Form (Notice of Intent - Spanish) to District 60 but provided the test results to another parochial school, umbrella school, or separate school district, you must notify District 60 where the results were sent.
-
Extracurricular activity information
If you would like your child to participate in additional classes or activities and sports through District 60, you must contact your neighborhood school principal and request approval at your neighborhood school.
All enrollments for home school students are by the discretion of the principal and subject to class size and subject availability.
