  • EAST’S PROSTART RESTAURANT GETS A $5,000 BOOST

    Located inside East High School and run by Janae Passalaqua’s ProStart students, the Golden Eagle Restaurant is poised for a post-pandemic comeback. When the doors again open to East educators and staff intent on a delicious student-prepared meal, the operation will boast new equipment as well as complete industry uniforms – chef jackets, pants, shoes, aprons and hats – for the student staff.   • VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO SERVE ON BOND ADVISORY COMMITTEE

    This 7- to 9-member Committee serves in an advisory capacity, monitoring the expenditure of funds approved by taxpayers through the 2019 bond and then reporting the findings to the D60 Board of Education. This critical service of ensuring that the funds are being spent as directed by the bond ballot language is intended to provide a high level of accountability to the citizen taxpayers of the District.
