My coaching philosophy is to develop a fundamentally sound and academically driven student-athlete, develop sports skills, and assist in building upon core character traits. These traits are: responsibility, integrity, leadership, fair play, teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication, discipline, and a relentless work ethic. These character traits will then lead to building an outstanding student-athlete and young man.

Before joining the Centennial Bulldogs Basketball program, I was the Head Basketball Coach, Head Football Coach, Assistant Basketball Coach, and Assistant Football Coach at Elbert High School. The program developed a competitive culture at a high level and maintained a proud history of reaching division and regional playoffs. My basketball playing career started in high school and continued after joining the United States Air Force, playing at several Air Force bases for ten years.

While serving my country, I was allowed to attend college. I earned the following degrees: Bachelor of Science, Management Park University MO, and Associate in Applied Science, Instructor in Technology, CCAF, Master Degree in Education through Auburn University of Montgomery AL, and Master Degree in Counseling at University of Colorado Colorado Springs.

I have been married to the beautiful and devoted Michelle for 40 years, and we have one son Jermaine. I am currently employed at Risley International Academy of Innovation.

The vision for the Centennial basketball program is to create men that can cope and thrive with the demands of academics, relationships, and sports. We want lifelong learners who maintain a growth mindset and have a culture of can-do spirit. They will seek to compete with the best on the field and off in life. Our play, culture, and brand style will be recognizable within our school, community, county, and state.

Incoming freshman and returning players will participate in our off-season program, attending Gold Crown basketball camp with a recruitable event for NCAA Division II, III, and JC coaches. Participating in Greeley college, Greeley Co, and Northeastern Junior College for completive competition play and exposure. A day of individual shooting instruction by a professional shooting coach for Colorado Spring Colorado. As well as two days a week of team development and strength conditions and team bonding. Another opportunity for an individual to improve basketball skills through attending voluntary basketball clinics through NBC CAMPS hosted by College Head Coach Donnie Bostwick, Lakewood, Colorado.

This is Tara's 9th year coaching at Centennial High school, and 7th year as the head coach. I’ve enjoyed coaching some amazing athletes here at Centennial through the years. It’s always been more about life lessons and helping these young ladies develop both on and off the court. We want everyone to feel they have a role in this team and look forward to meeting new freshmen and new students interested in Girls Basketball. We will be doing some off-season open gyms and looking to play in some local tournaments. Should you have any questions, here is my contact info. Thank you for considering Centennial High School, as you would be making a great choice!
