Clean Water in Schools
In June, Governor Jared Polis signed the Clean Water in Schools and Child Care Centers law, which requires all public schools to sample their drinking water for lead and take mitigative action when results show levels of lead at or above 4.5 parts per billion.

The South HS Cross Country Team is Still Accepting Athletes! Join TODAY!
IT IS NOT TOO LATE!! Cross country is still accepting athletes! Did you miss tryouts for other sports or did you get cut? Do you still want to get involved at South High? It is not too late to join Cross Country! We are still accepting athletes! All ability levels are welcome and we do not have cuts. Take a risk and try something new! Attention Parents and Guardians: The Colts Closet is now open. Please open the full announcement to access the Colts Closet Request Form. This form is also located in all grade level Google Classrooms as well as many other individual classrooms that your student has access to. Students can click on the link and request needed school supplies, food items, and hygiene products. The request will go directly to the community advocate who will fill the order and then students can pick up the items in the main office. Please call 719.549.7255 for more information.

The South High School Library Needs Your Help
There is now officially a link for monetary donations for the library here at South HS. We are working to build the library collection back up to a state where it can be utilized by the students to not only have resources for their classes, but to also be able to just take a moment to breathe and sit down with a good book. CANNON GAME: THE STORY BEHIND THE RIVALRY
In a battle dating back to 1976, the Eagles and Colts square off for the right to host, for a year, a ceremonial Cannon. This armament is painted in the victor’s school colors and, during home contests at Dutch Clark Stadium, fired off every time the holding team finds the end zone.

2024 INITIAL PERFORMANCE FRAMEWORKS RELEASED
The Colorado Department of Education has released preliminary 2024 District and School Performance Frameworks, based on achievement and growth on state assessments as well as post secondary measures. School Performance Frameworks are released annually as part of the accountability system for schools and districts.

This year, the District has placed a renewed emphasis on strong daily attendance through a "Be Present, Be Powerful!" campaign. To reward those scholars who have shown marked improvement in attendance, we are launching an incentive program. And that's where we need your help.

PARENT AND FAMILY ACADEMY NIGHT: INFINITE CAMPUS
Our first Parent and Family Academy of the school year will focus on navigating Infinite Campus. It will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 at the D60 Administration Office (315 W 11th Street). At the event you will learn how to sign in to, or sign up for, a parent Infinite Campus account and learn how to check grades and attendance and access important information.
