The South High School Library Needs Your Help
There is now officially a link for monetary donations for the library here at South HS. We are working to build the library collection back up to a state where it can be utilized by the students to not only have resources for their classes, but to also be able to just take a moment to breathe and sit down with a good book. South Colts SUMMER CROSS COUNTRY INFORMATION
The Colt summer running club will start on June 27th at 730 AM in the Southwest corner of City Park, just past the dog park. We will practice Tuesday through Friday all summer! Practice is not required in the summer, but is mandatory starting August 7th. Please see full announcement for more information.

SGT. BLAKE HARRIS’ MEMORY HONORED BY HIS SON, THOSE HE SERVED WITH
In 2002, with the War on Terror beginning to take root, Blake Harris graduated from South High School with a desire to serve and defend his country. For three years, Blake was a South JROTC cadet, a fact that made his father John, an 11-year Army veteran, quite proud, and set the course for the boy's future.

SOUTH CLASS OF 2023 CELEBRATES SCHOOL’S 64TH COMMENCEMENT
More than 180 members of the South Class of 2023 joined a heralded collective of alumni after walking across the Southwest Motors Events Center stage to receive a diploma marking the end of the high school journey and the beginning of the next sojourn.

DISTRICT’S TOP SCHOLARS, EAST HIGH SCHOOL, LAUDED FOR ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS
A 15-year District 60 tradition, the Academic Excellence Awards ceremony was created to recognize graduating seniors who have distinguished themselves through rigor of courses and a grade point average of at least 3.4. The honored scholars embody the values of Academic Achievement, Leadership, Character, and Service: the pillars of the coveted Lamp of Knowledge, which serves as a centerpiece of the ceremony.

PREPARING FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
The highest-achieving scholars from our high schools are spending the morning preparing for this evening's Academic Excellence Ceremony, which will salute those who will graduate with top honors. Additionally, the traditional Lamp of Knowledge will be awarded to that school that has earned it. The ceremony begins at 6 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, at the Southwest Motors Events Center.
